Day Centre
The Day Centre is often the first port of call for our services.
Here, anyone is welcome to drop in for a shower, a hot meal, clean clothes and some company. We also offer 1-to-1 expert advice on issues associated with homelessness.
The Day Centre is the main referral point for The Elms hostel.
You can find the Day Centre at the edge of Gadebridge Park: 1 Queensway, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1HT. Click here to view on Google Maps.
The Day Centre is open Monday to Friday, 10am-4pm*
General drop in: Monday to Thursday, 10am-2pm
Pre-booked 1-to-1 appointments: Monday to Thursday, 2pm-4pm and Friday, 10am-4pm
To make an appointment, please call 01442 275900 or email needhelp@dens.org.uk
Please note the Day Centre is closed on Bank Holidays.
*During the winter months, the Day Centre will allow access to those who are struggling with warmth, between 9am-5pm.
Cost of Living Support
We’re working in partnership with local charities to support people facing financial difficulties.
Our aim is to help those who access the Dacorum Foodbank, or may be at risk of needing the service, to manage their situation so they are less likely to need the Foodbank in the future.
Services include:
- Tailored budgeting advice and support
- Checking what benefits you can access
- Life skills and money management workshops: focusing on how to maintain a tenancy, manage bills, eat healthily for less and improve wellbeing.
If you, or someone you know, needs support, please contact Joanne Warrick on 07415 628701 or joanne.warrick@dens.org.uk.
